Fleet Costs Cut by Over 200K Pounds
Higher costs of diesel certainly hurt fleets trying to save money where they can. Companies that need to save money are looking at vehicle tracking as a solution in more ways than one. Tyres, vehicle maintenance, technology and downtime can be changed using fleet tracking devices.
Several UK companies have added in real time vehicle tracking since 2008. What these companies are now reporting is more than £200,000 in savings each year with regards to fleet operations. It is not just savings on fuel costs, though this is significant.
With better tracking the companies are able to provide better maintenance to their fleet, which in turn saves them on added maintenance repairs and breakdowns. A company loses money if they have to send out a secondary lorry in order to change over the delivery items from the broken down lorry into the running lorry. It makes the fleet drivers late, can irritate customers, and then there is more lost with regards to revenue.
The most recent studies are showing more fleets are deciding to take advantage of the devices, even if it means spending a little to get the tracking options. The rewards are much greater than the initial costs.
